Tufted Titmouse
Tufted Titmouse
The TUFTED TITMOUSE is not intimidated by the presence of people and has been known to swoop down to pluck out a human hair to use as nesting material. You may be lucky enough to have it eat sunflower seeds out of your hand. Adapted to parks, forests or shady suburbs, you may find it at your bird feeder or living in a bird box in your backyard. The charming titmouse carving shows its large black eyes and gray plumage with whitish gray underparts.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carvable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
The bird measures 6 inches from beak to tail, 3.25 inches from feet to crest with an overall height of 5 inches.
