White-Breasted Nuthatch

The White-Breasted Nuthatch is the most widespread nuthatch. It can balance upside down on tree trunks and catch a falling nut in midair. This beautifully painted bird is perched on a tree stump and measures 4.25 inches long with an overall height of 6.25 inches.

All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
