Carolina Wren on Perch
Carolina Wren
The Carolina Wren is the largest and most energetic of the North American wrens and is commonly found in brushy undergrowth and suburban gardens. The carving shows off the warm reddish brown feathers of the Carolina wren and its conspicuous white eyebrow stripe.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
The bird measures 4.75 inches from beak to tail, 2.75 inches from feet to the top of the head and has an overall height of 5 inches' The wren is perched on a wooden stump.
