Parrot Finch
Parrot Finch
A small colorful bird, the Parrot Finch is found from South-east Asia to New Guinea, Australia and many Pacific Islands. It lives in bamboo thickets, forests and grasslands but can also be kept as a cagebird. Its feathers are a bright green with blue or red markings on the head and a long red pointed tail. It feeds on grasses, fruit and insects.
The parrot fich measures 6 inches from head to tail, 3.5 inches from the top of the head to the lower foot and has an overall height of 7.5 inches.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
