Painted Bunting

With a dark blue head, lime green back and red underparts, the Painted Bunting looks like a product of someone's imagination. Its brilliant plumage makes it the most colorful North American songbird.

All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.

The bird measures approximately 4.75 inches from beak to tail, its height is 2.5 inches and with the wooden perch has an overall height of 4.5 inches.
