Mourning Dove (Juvenile)
Common to most of North America, MOURNING DOVES are easily recognized by their long pointed tails tipped with white and the mournful "woo-woo-woo" of their call. They will come to your platform feeder in search of sunflower seeds and cracked corn. This carving depicts the young mourning dove and has an overall height of 6.75 inches. The dove itself is 2.75 inches high and is 6.50 inches from the tip of the beak to the tail.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.

This is a great little replica of a baby dove with terrific feather detail and amazingly life-like coloration.Michelle freshour
