Dark-Eyed Junco (on branch)
Description
Dark-eyed Junco (on branch)
The slate-colored Dark-Eyed Junco ranges from northern Alaska into Mexico and from coast to coast. The sweet dark eyes on this carving give it great expression, and it is mounted on a tree branch with a mossy base.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
The bird measures 5.75 inches from beak to tail, is 2.5 inches high and has an overall height of 6.75 inches high.
