Description
Brown Creeper
The Brown Creeper, found throughout North America, forages for insects by circling a tree as if it were climbing a spiral staircase. It camouflages itself by flattening its body against a tree trunk and spreading its wings and tail.
This charming little carving shows the subtle blue-gray and brown speckled coloring of the brown creeper. All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
The brown creeper is 5.5 inches from beak to tail, and has an overall height of 6 inches.
