BLUEBIRD (Female with worm on branch)

This carving is of a female Bluebird ready to feed her young with a small worm she holds in her bill. The bird is perched on a wooden tree branch with a green mossy base.

All of our life-size birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood. The bluebird measures 6 inches from beak to tail, is 3.5 inches from head to foot and has an overall height of 7.75 inches.
