The Black Throated Green Warbler is a small songbird of the northeastern pine forests of North America and western Canada and the cypress swamps on the southern Atlantic coasts. It is easily recognized by its dark black throat and contrasting bright yellow face topped with an olive green cap. It feeds on berries and insects often catching them in flight. This tiny bird migrates to Mexico and as far as South America.
All of our life-size birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show texture and detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass and feet are copper.The base is wood.
