Indigo Bunting
Indigo Bunting
Found from the southern to northern regions of the United States, the Indigo bunting population is expanding due to the clearing of forests creating more farmlands. This beautiful little bird is known for its bright blue feathers and can be found munching on dandelion seeds and wild berries along forest edges or fields. The bird carving measures approximately 4.75 inches long by 2.5 inches high with an overall height of 4.5 inches and is mounted on a wooden stump.
All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.

I'm not really familiar with North American birds, but from a carving perspective I think it has nice detail and jizz. Very lifelike for the price.Richard Major
