Golden-Crowned Kinglet

The Golden-Crowned Kinglet is a tiny olive-green bird that will sometimes let itself be held. It is distinguished by its yellow crown bordered by black and a whitish eyebrow stripe. 

All of our life-size birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood. The kinglet measures 3.75 inches from beak to tail, is 2.5 inches from feet to top of head and has an overall height of 7 inches.
