GRAY CATBIRD

While living in your shrubs and bushes, the tame Catbird is easily attracted to your feeder by cheese or cornflakes. Often imitating the mewing of a cat, it can also mimic the sounds of other birds, amphibians and even machinery. The catbird is recognized by its slate gray color, black cap and long tail that flips up and from side to side.

The bird measures 6 ¼ inches from beak to tail, is 2 ¼ inches high and the carving has an overall height of 5 ¼ inches.

All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
