WHITE THROATED SPARROW

Found both in pine forests and thickets, the White-Throated Sparrow hops on the ground foraging and scratching in the leaves for seeds and insects. It is distinguished by a broad yellow eyebrow and a definite white throat.

The bird measures 5 3/4 inches from beak to tail, is 3 inches high and the carving has an overall height of 5 1/2 inches.

All of our life-sized birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
