VERMILLION FLYCATCHER

The VERMILLION FLYCATCHER is the most colorful of the flycatchers with its scarlet head and underparts. This tame and approachable bird sports a blackish-brown mask and upper feathers. It is often found in somewhat arid regions but near natural or man-made sources of water.

This carving of the brightly painted vermillion flycatcher will certainly bring a bit of cheer. All of our life-sized birds are carved from bass wood, hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acryllic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood.
